A Day in Denali

Here Jo is saluting to Thom. Well, maybe the mountains as well. The park is unreal and yesterday I got to see lots of wildlife from the bus. Caribou, a beautiful red fox, dall sheep, moose, a falcon, and a mother grizzly with two cubs who climbed up a very steep hill to lay down in front of our bus. Our mouths were hanging open and cameras madly clicking. I got some awesome photos of of mom and cubs but they are on the 20D, Thom, waiting for you to photoshop them.

Waiting to hear from you.

We begin again

It's so long since I posted that I forget what to do or say. And so we begin again....

Jo is in Alaska and Thom is in D.C. Hello, Darling, let's get this thing going again. We are a couple having a long distance marriage and we find ourselves in different locations in the world once more. Our children are scattered as well. One in Oklahoma and one journeying from Thailand, the Phillipines, Okinawa, Ga and now back to CA. We are the roving family.

Today I saw 26 glaciers. At least that's what the cruise said.
Five hours of sheer beauty. It was overcast and rainy. We saw 2 or maybe 4 humpbacks at the end, one breaching. We all held our breath and then we yelled and applauded when they moved around. A crazy blend of people like little kids, excited to see these huge beauties.

I am so missing you, my darling, and the boys. Today I was paired with a wonderful family...mother, father, 2 teens, and grandfather, an ex fighter pilot. We shared the time together as we were all sitting at the same table. It made me feel better to be with family, even though it's not my own.
